Calvary Bible Church of Lapeer

We are a Bible preaching church with dedication to a missions program that seeks to win the lost, build up believers and to worship the Lord. Calvary is a missions-minded church that supports numerous missionaries around the world. Our approach to worship is currently blended with two Sunday services and a mid-week prayer and Bible study. Our radio station, WMPC Gospel 1230 AM and 106.9 FM is the oldest continuously operating gospel radio station in the country. Our Sunday morning worship service is broadcast live on WMPC Gospel 1230 AM and 106.9 FM at 11:00 a.m. and our Bible Knowledge Hour is broadcast live at 6:00 p.m.

Calvary has many ministries ranging from Children's ministry to Men's and Women's study groups which includes a special ministry for the senior citizens. Calvary offers Sunday School classes for all ages to provide opportunities to study God's Word with others in a friendly, relaxed environment.

Calvary Bible also sponsors the Noah's Ark Preschool. Noah’s Ark has provided excellent Kindergarten readiness education to ages three and four for over 40 years. Noah’s Ark's vision is to serve, partner, support, encourage and assist children and families in their education and spiritual growth, as well as endeavor to become like Jesus. Our philosophy is to encourage the development of the whole child. We provide a safe, well supervised program which focuses on developmental growth in each of the following areas:

  1. Physical
  2. Social
  3. Emotional
  4. Intellectual
  5. Spiritual

As part of the 175th celebration, it was decided to pull together the history and put it into a book for future generations. Through historical information, personal testimonies, photographs and voice recordings; this book brings to life the history of the church and the beginnings of the radio ministry that is still a key part of the present day ministry.

Calvary Bible is a member of the GriefShare program and has been offering meetings for more than a year now. GriefShare is a weekly support group for people grieving the death of a loved one. The group provides a caring environment and a safe place to share difficult feelings.

GriefShare is non-denominational and features Biblical concepts for healing. Calvary Bible Church is one of more than 12,000 churches worldwide to offer the program, which is led by people who have experienced grief and have successfully rebuilt their lives. Sessions run September through May at 1 p.m. Thursdays in the church library. Each session includes a video presentation and discussion. Each participant receives a free workbook.
